Damn you to hell Russell T. Davis! Longest. Death. Scene. Ever. I kept thinking oh this it it this it it but no - it's the Spock Death!
I'm going to recommend it should be a trope of its own in Tv Tropes.
Tennent was great though. Simm was a bit wasted. At least we now know why he had those amazing Xmen powers. Dalton hammed it up beautifully. Mr. Cribbins had me sniffling through the whole episode. And if Tennent kept whipping around back to front anymore he'd have given himself whiplash. Make a decision man!
The use of the drum beat was good. And may I say - I thought Mr. Simm has slimmed down at bit too much but he still looks deelish. And I can't have been the only one who had thoughts along the line of I'd tell him to go fuck himself but obviously, he doesn't have an option or you probably have. Anyone else?

Ok observation time..

Who is the female Time lord i.e. Claire Bloom?
Right now I'm thinking the doctor's mother or it's Donna. Or maybe an aunt of some kind.
I was wondering who the see no evil pair were - we know the one actor at least. Their arms must have been killing them.And now the Time Lords are the big bad..

Misha Collins is one fine looking gentleman. Ahem.
And I'm sorry but Uriel just isn't scary.
The scariest portrayal of a angel ever will always be Christopher Walken as Gabriel in The Prophecy.
It can't be beat. But they both have a lot of similarities.

It didn't take Sam long to go back on his promise. And getting annoyed that heaven may not mean what he thinks it means.

I found the revelation of the 4 a bit of a let down.

I still think the writing or machinations of characters has seriously gone into decline.
The show really has jumped the shark. It really was the 1st episode of Season 4 for me.
But that is not saying there haven't been some crackers of plot bunnies.
But I really am not watching it now for the plot or mystisism of the Cylons anymore.
I just want the characters to make it.
I want to know how it will end for Adama Sr, Gaeta, Tigh, Tyrol, Romo, Baltar, Six, Helo,Athena, Cottle, Sam, Racetrack, Seelix even Duella and Sharon.
Lee and Kara... just have had too much flip flopping. Kara not twitchy crazy anymore? Lee is a fucking Mary Sue now?

What I loved:

Comedy!Baltar is back! Ohhhh how I've missed him. His chat with the Centurion was classic. Its reaction to him and the Dog with a biscuit on his snout ...;) But I just kept thinking "Back away Gaius! He doesn't have his leash on anymore!" They really are terrifying.

Roslin/ Baltar / the Hybrid - it was like an Altman film for a while. Love it.

Elosa's visit - a bit preachy but it was good to see her again. And seeing a very sick Laura made me cry. And when Adama put the ring on her finger. I never knew I could be such a romantic.

Three - The attitude. ;) " Until she sees something shiny". That Cavil kill.

Helo - He is the only character who has grown on me this season.
What a reminder for him that his wife is not a unique and beautiful butterfly. Creepy.
But doesn't that mean that all the 8's have Athena's codes and knowledge of Galactica too?
Watching it again, are Athena's memories on file somewhere? And not shared with every copy, as we thought? I hate retcon.

We knew they would never give away the final Cylon Scene in the promo.
But then, I thought the Tory/Cally scene in that promo was a dream sequence *intake breath* No more promos for me.

WTF have they done with Sharon?
Cavil calling her "his pet Boomer"? Her running off like a wimp? Reduced to the villain's sidekick?
I'm hoping it's all a fakeout and that she wants the humans to survive but this season writing is not giving any such subtlety. I'd rather that they had killed her off.
I don't think she is dead though. Yet. I'm waiting for the Tyrol/Boomer meet up.

The New 8 with free Athena Plugin - I don't like this. It has made me very wary. It's very B-9 from Star Trek: Nemesis. Which brings me to...

All this has happened before and all of it will happen again... the death of the goddess Athena.
We know she threw herself from the gates of Hera but why?
Right now, I'm thinking it's Sharon or Athena who's going to die. Maybe to save everyone? Who knows.
I want Boomer to be redeemed.
I do not want Boomer/Tyrol. That just shits all over Cally and Nicholas' story.
But with this introduction of a new 8 - I just hope they don't kill off Athena for that.

Finally, a human finds out what Baltar did and she changes her mind. " The bad man feels just as much pain" Pooh.
Way to get rid of the guilt, Baltar.

Are they trying to make Helo a Final Cylon suspect? The Tigh/Caprica pregnancy story line does make this possible.

I think I may just have witnessed the show just jump the shark.

Caprica's pregnant. Well, that just fucked with the shows mythology.
Zarak back to being a little bit insane and alotta power hungry.
Natalie went ....nowhere.
Athena's..... I don't know what.
Kara's ..... I don't know what.
I'm now thinking it's so obvious that Cottle is the final Cylon that it can't possibly be him.
Gaeta's disappeared.
I thought for a second that they were going to kill off Racetrack but phew it's just the whiny Pike.
Was Lee becoming the Disco Prez supposed to be a surprise to anyone?
ROMO!!!!... I know they wrote Lampkin with as much subtlety as a scream in the face but this was ridiculous.

We found out that Lampkin left his family to survive. I could just imagine after Lee admitted he wanted to be president, him just lowering the gun saying Oh well. Let's go get a drink.
His back story would have much more heartbreaking if we knew this at the trial. It felt like they were just throwing out info because they could.

Jesus it seems all my shows are just flip flopping characters about that they are now different shows.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Well... I've finally seen it.

And it was meh. Just meh. Bordering on indifference.
I had hoped and hoped that this would be the one that Spielberg & Lucas could redeem themselves but no.
I didn't feel anything coming out of the film (humming the theme doesn't count. Put anyone in a dark room with that tune on and they won't be able to help themselves.) No smiling. No thinking of the great moments.
I've watched it and I won't be going again. Someone I know is bound to buy it, but I won't be driven to watch it.
I can't believe I'm saying this about an Indiana Jones film.

Did they actually go to any of the locations except for the university?
Every spot they were at was very stagy. It just looked like it was all shot on greenscreen.
Now of course, you could tell in the other Indy's when they were on a stage but they also went to locations.
You could tell they were in a desert, India(well what looked like India), Venice, Morocco.
You could tell that they were outdoors!
Too much CGI. And BAD CGI at that. Usually ILM pull out all the stops when dealing with Daddy and his best friend, but not here.
The shot at the end with the inter-dimensional beings (remember not aliens!) was very Mummy Returns for me. And other bits very Pirates of the Carribbean.

What the fuck has happened to films? Seriously, if there is any type of mythology involved, it so bloody convoluted that the writers themselves get lost. The prevoius indys could be summed.....

you know what? I've been thinking about what I'm going to write and I'm just getting angrier when I think of this waste. of fucking time.
I was going to wax lyrical or talk shite but I now can't be bothered.

What I liked :

Shia La Beouf did the best he could. I actually liked him but the character really went nowhere.
The greasers/ Jock fight. It made me smile.
The bike chase.

Have a guess...:
Cate Blancett's accent kept slipping.
Skull only magnetic when convenient.
Area 51 scene - they went for the alien body - what did it have to do with the plot?
The skull looking very plastic with silver paint on the inside.
Lack of decent bad guys.
The throw away Ark of the Covenant gag. Looking for a power source? Movie would only have been 15 minutes long.
Mushroom cloud from that distance - You die a horrible death later. But no never mind. Just scrub & go.
Who knew that primative south american / Mayan cultures did interpretive dance & Parkour? Or was that seven years of ballet and two of jazz tap? Was Raiders this insulting? The Raiders southies had more dignity.
Aww fuck it.

So too much the Mummy films & PotC with a dash of Indys greatest hits.

Now, I'm off to watch some Raiders, Temple & Crusade to cheer me up.

I feel I may have seen all the film in this one. Damn.

But it's got the pretty going on with Callum Keith Rennie, Gillian Anderson & David Duchovny.
Dare I say it though that Dave isn't wearing well - Shhh.

I know you want to do other things & I've seen you in Boondock Saints but but but...
I just can't accept it. I grew up on your concerts, audio tapes, audience with... & the travel shows! I watched them all with my Dad.You are a part of my childhood. And I'm going to see you live for the first time on June 6th. - Woohoo - It's just weird. And wrong. Wrong and weird. And you are totally a bad guy by the way. You can't be a bad guy! Just can't!

So what do I think is the plot:
- Callum is one of the bad guys - shocker there! - but I'm not sure is the actual main monster. We catch a glimpse of someone looking a little gollum-like with a big scratch down his face and a little triangle of skin??? at 1:07 and it's not him. Or that guy could just end up dying early.
- Does he live in the water or ice? Or iced water? It would be handy for parties.
When we see a character sitting in a pool with just their eyes showing it's pretty much guaranteed that they have some type of aquatic feature. And that they are evil.
- So the girls are being kidnapped and tested on while they are still on ice... I hope it's not a Bride of Frankenstein thing...
Speaking of white lab coats, Is CKR's character a military experiment? - kind of like that Peter Benchley novel "White Shark" about a genetically - mutated Nazi Officer/shark hybrid who terrorises a small coastal town - hey! It was a long Summer, years ago and I just found it in the mobile. - seems likely, as this is the X-files.
- Why does Billy have blood coming out of his eyes?
- Seriously, I love poundy choral music but can they just lay off it with trailers? It's been that way since Gladiator.

Theory time!

Just some random thoughts on this episode & where the show could be going:

- Ben - Why is he so giving all of a sudden? We know he is lying through his back teeth...He always have a plan.
With the amount of shit he has gone through and put others through, I don't believe for a second that he has become so obliging for what the island wants. Or to relinquish power easily.
Richard mentioned to Locke that the baby making business wasn't one of the important things to the island. And the island was letting Ben die from a tumor because he was doing things his own way. He was not listening to it any more. And its previous golden boy/ 1st choice was on his way.

Locke has always messed up. He has made the poor decision time and time again. And now that he knows for definite that he is chosen, will he mess up again? I'm thinking Yes.
And who will be there to lead Locke to it? You betcha'.Ben is going to fuck Locke royally.
As Ben said "Destiny is a fickle bitch". Will the island care who saves it? I don't think so.
I'm think of two ways the plot can go:
We all know that The Orchid Station will be seen this season. It says so on Ben's coat. ;) And where did Ben get that wound on his arm from? Could Locke have slashed him before he "jumped"?
Does Ben lead Locke to make the wrong decision? He is very good at that. If he does ,we know the Island is not forgiving when someone fails it.- will it then let Locke die?
Does Ben save the day? In his patent sordid way, I'm saying yes.
And would he fuck everyone over to save himself? Yes.

Ben is very angry with the death of his mother, Annie & Alex. Everyone who loved or could have loved him has died.
He believed he was destined to lead the others. He would have learned that his mother had to die in order for him to go to the island. He tries to have a normal life with Annie and she's gone too.His daughter, who in his eyes he saved, dies during the power struggle for the island. That can't be nice.
He was not left to his own devices until he was ready to come to the island. He was brought in as filler.
How angry would a person be at that realisation? And we know, no one does an explosion of emotion like Benjamin Linus.
He holds a grudge like no other. He would want the island to rue the day. Or more specifically - Jacob.
Do we know if Jacob can die? I bet Ben will try.
Ben will win the war with Charles Widmore. But what then?
If Locke really does die - that doesn't mean he won't show up again. This is Lost!
But it then leaves the door open for the other golden boy to save Jacob, the island and the survivors...

- It pains me to say - Jack Shepherd. *sigh*

4 out of 5 writers prefer Shepherd.

But I would love it to be Sawyer. Heheh.

That's more like it.

I blubbed. I blubbed like I skinned my knee. Best scene this season.

That was the Laura Roslin I love.
They finally stepped away from her being a dictator bitch. I hope it will last.
I even didn't want to bludgeon Tory to death in this episode.
First script for Seamus Kevin Fahey ( you don't think he's got some Irish blood do you? ;) ) - bravo!

NANA VISITOR! I didn't recognise her at the start. I kept thinking I know that voice, I know that voice, where, where...bing!
I wouldn't mind, but I knew she was going to be in an episode and I still didn't clock her. ;)
Her interaction with Mary was fantastic. And there was some nice theorising too.

Me likely:

- Helo - Finally starting to like you again. You rocked.
- Gaeta - Didn't you know that Sam is loco for his wife? Sorry about the leg. You've had a rough one over the last season...Please don't be a Cylon.
- Sam - Love that you defend your wife above all things but we do not harm the Gaeta.

Tight without an eye and Gaeta without a leg...I don't know where I'm going with this. My meds have started to kick in.

What I didn't like:

-Leoben - You were creepy. Now you are fundmentalist creepy. I can just hope that Kara kicks you arse at the end and you know it too. But you are still very pretty.
Redshirt Girl - Why did you go with them,silly?

Are they setting up Cottle as the final Cylon? He was mentioned by name a lot and it's just making me wonder. He is brilliantly sarky and speaks like an observer with what is happening.

I don't think Adama Sr. can be a Cylon. Where does that leave the Caprica Series. Lee on the other hand... Still a big fat cheat.

Baltar... The writers seem to have left you behind as a suspect. Or is that the point.

Gaeta... Losing your leg could be the thing that flips your switch. If not, please don't be killed off.

Dullea ... Haven't seen you in a while and I know you are now on Reaper, so looking unlikely at the moment.

I hope we get more Simon & Doral interaction soon. We haven't seen them talk in a while.

Is it just me or at 1:57 there is a woman being thrown off a building who is wearing a dress that is quite similar to Maggie Gyllenhaal's dress at the party at 1:17?

Stunt double pre effects? They wouldn't give anything like that away in the trailer, would they?

Aaaaa... Some give the whole film away...
I think it's just me.
But one thing is for sure... The Joker throwing people off buildings is way cool. I have a twisted sensibility at times. ;)
And I feel I'm going to be very sorry for Harvey Dent. And that he's going to get mauled quicker into the film then I thought.
